If you gave up cheese a while back and only recently rediscovered how amazing dairy-free cheese can be, you may be out of practice cooking with all that ooey-gooey cheesy goodness.
There are the classics like pizza and grilled cheese, of course, but we know lots of Vevanites love spending time in the kitchen and creating delicious dairy-free dishes.
That’s why we asked our test kitchen recipe developers for some more insight on each of the Vevan flavors (Ched, Mozza and P’Jack), as well as some inspiration for making your own kind of flavorful magic.
In case you’re new to the brand, the Vevan line features three popular choices bursting with authentic flavor and a terrific melting texture. The lineup gives you maximum versatility for creating traditional dishes with plant-based cheese and exploring new ways to fall in love with cheese all over again.
Sharp, Bold Ched
Tried & True: The vibrant flavor of Ched lends a distinctive bite to favorites like grilled cheese, quesadillas, egg scrambles, omelets and breakfast sandwiches.
Extra Amazing: For a more adventurous palate, incorporate Ched into dishes like an apple ched bread pudding, beer and ched bread bowl fondue or poutine baked potatoes.
Smooth, Creamy Mozza
Tried & True: Common ways to use mild, creamy Mozza include pizza, flatbreads, lasagna, caprese salad and other Italian dishes.
Extra Amazing: Elevate the traditional flavor of Mozza by weaving it into elegant dishes like a roasted pear and walnut blend or savory blueberry stuffed French toast. Or, reinvent an oldie but goodie, such as a creamy pizza-inspired soup.
Savory, Spicy P’Jack
Tried & True: P’Jack lets you turn up the heat a notch and add some subtle spice to Mexican classics like tacos, burritos and enchiladas.
Extra Amazing: If you’re craving a spicy kick, try P’Jack in a green chili and corn dip, zesty nacho sauce or cheesy apple quesadilla.
Mix-Ups and Mashups
Another way to explore new flavors is by creating your own custom blends. Some of our favorite combos include Mozza and Ched (perfect for pizza), Mozza with P’Jack (melts into a creamy dippable dream-come-true) and P’Jack and Ched (excellent for energizing spicy ethnic dishes).
You can also swap out the cheese flavor you might expect in a certain recipe and create an entirely new dish. For example, forgo the Mozza and instead use Ched to create a cheeseburger pizza. Load up a sweet potato with P’Jack for a savory sweet and spicy side, or use Mozza (along with some buffalo sauce and cauliflower) for a grown-up mac-n-cheese.
Remember that all three flavors melt beautifully with alternative milks or water, which means you can create delicious dips and sauces, in addition to countless other dairy-free dishes.
